Many of the mingle guests skedaddled before their pictures           could be taken, but we did manage a few...

Back row:  Bob Howicz (Presenter) Joyce Voss (Friends Secretary and                          Homebound Committee member), Darlene Markle (Presenter)
Front row:  Irene Nathanson (Share With Me Program Director and                                  Homebound Committee Chair) Ray Schiel (Presenter), Cindy                        Daly (Web Admin and Homebound Committee member),                                Connie Morley (Future Presenter).

Some of the volunteers were working their shift in the                    Bookstore and were unable to attend the mingle for very                      long.  As the balloon says, to all the Volunteers...

READ TO ME PROGRAM - MEET AND MINGLE MIXER

On November 8, 2023, the Read To Me program director, Irene Nathanson, hosted its first Meet and Mingle Mixer at Mimi's Cafe on Bell Road.   The volunteer readers/presenters were invited, along with Board members, for appetizers and beverages.  Each group shared their stories and experiences participating in the program, and as a member of the Board. We shared a lot of laughs, and enjoyed good food and good company.
Some of the readers and Board members stayed for picture taking... others escaped before we could get them in the group shot.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER MARCH 15th, 2023
Our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner took place on Wednesday, March 15th at Palmbrook Country Club.  Kudos to Ruth Polansky for organizing the event, Jennie O'Leary for standing in for Sue Blechl who was unable to attend, and Irene Nathanson for helping with the registration table and checking people in.

With a nod to St. Patrick's day, a photo op area was set up and many took advantage of it.
Appreciation awards were given to Cathy Weyers for her many years of service on the Friends Board and for stepping up to be the Bookstore Manager, as well as ones given to Pam Danneman and to Sue Painter for their contributions.

The food was great and the company even greater.  A big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers.  Without you, we could not be as effective in the community as we are.  We look forward to another successful year!
