ABOUT THE SUN CITY FAIRWAY BRANCH LIBRARY

  • While our numbers may be modest due to our small size, our library thrives on strong community bonds. We offer a welcoming, small-town atmosphere where camaraderie between staff and patrons creates a truly special experience.
  • Our library offers a diverse collection of over 11,000 items, including books, magazines, DVDs, Blu-rays, music and audio CDs, children’s materials, Spanish-language resources, and an impressive Large Print collection with more than 2,000 titles
  • In 2024, our library welcomed over 50,000 visitors—averaging 4,230 community members each month
  • In 2024 Our patrons checked out:
            1.  10,038 DVDs

2.  632 seed packets
            3.
292 MAX Books

4.  52 ukuleles
            5.  17 book club kits
  • In 2024, we hosted 2 programs per month with an average of 65 attendees and a total of 774 attendees for the year.
  • However, we have had a significant jump in activities in 2025, and we’ve already surpassed last year’s total number of programs—averaging 6 programs and 78 attendees each month!
At Fairway Library, our dedicated volunteers play a vital role in keeping our branch running smoothly. Our volunteers help shelve checked-in materials, ensure the shelves are neat and organized, and check for items that may be out of place. They also assist with sorting and packaging seeds for our Seed Library and help prepare materials for craft programs.

The Fairway Library has 7 active volunteers, each of whom help us from two to six hours per week. Our volunteers make a meaningful difference by allowing staff to focus more on assisting patrons and planning engaging programs.

Renada Aung Khin, Fairway Library Supervisor

Renada grew up in the Deer Valley area of Arizona. She has worked in area libraries for 18 years and holds a master’s degree in library and information sciences from San Diego State.

"I enjoyed libraries growing up, but when I decided to take a part-time job at Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix while raising my son, I realized how much I truly loved them."

“Whether it’s helping someone find a job, offering a cool place to rest in the summer, or just providing a good book to escape into, I’ve always been proud to be part of something that makes a difference.”
